Land Use, Agriculture, Forestry and fisheries
Efficient land use, agriculture, forestry and fisheries provide enormous benefits for society and the economy and constitute a significant source of biodiversity. These societal benefits explain why the EU supports these sectors through the Common Agricultural Policy (CAP). The CAP provides financial support to fund forestry measures through national rural development programmes. The EU has set up a forest strategy to deliver coordination financial support to tackle the effects of deforestation and degradation and to regain the ecological, social, climatic and economic benefits of forests. Deforestation and forest degradation pose the severest threats to forests worldwide.
To operate in the framework of various EU policies, such as the EU Common Agricultural Policy and forest strategy:
- We advise clients on best practices for land use, agriculture and forestry on the basis of the EU policy.
- We advise on financing solutions for innovations.
- We advise on production rules in organic farming practices.
- We advise on agricultural issues such as EU agri-food trade relations with ACP. We can liaise with respective authorities in EU Delegations on behalf of clients for the preparations and implementation of agriculture and rural development projects.
